BACKGROUND:
In an effort to promote Scouting during the Emergency Preparedness week in Canada in May 2009, Scouts Canada has put together a special challenge. We are inviting our sections, who have either started or completed any portion of the EP program, to send us their section names to be entered into a draw for some great prizes. Please see the communiqué that we will be sending out tomorrow to all Beaver, Cub and Scout Section Leaders inviting them to participate in the Emergency Preparedness Challenge. For additional information please check out the website at www.scouts.ca/ep or contact either Rob Gallaher rgallaher@scouts.ca or Lisa Nowlan at lnowlan@scouts.ca.
Emergency Preparedness Challenge - are you prepared for anything nature throws at you?
We are now accepting entries for the Emergency Preparedness (EP) Challenge. What is the challenge? Quite simply it is an exciting opportunity for us to promote this new offering from Scouts Canada. We’re asking all sections that have started or completed any portion of the EP program to send in their name, and section name along with contact information, to ep@scouts.ca, in order to be entered in the contest to win one of five draws to be held on April 22, 2009. Sponsored by the Scouts Canada Foundation, lucky winners will receive scout shop certificates to be redeemed at the Scout Shop.
To help promote this initiative, we are also sending out posters to all Councils and Scout Shops. Please post a copy or copies of this poster in your office. We’re also including talking points that you can refer to should you receive questions. These resources (the poster and talking points) are also posted online at www.scouts.ca/ep along with other background material and contest details.
Let’s show Canadians how vibrant Scouting is during Emergency Preparedness week May 3-9, 2009 by showcasing the fact that we are the leaders in EP delivery!!! Join us as we celebrate another feat in Scouting. All winning sections will be profiled in Scouting Life Magazine and on our National Website.
Remind your sections to enter by midnight, April 21st Draws take place April 22, 2009.
Good luck and Good Scouting!!!
Please visit www.scouts.ca/ep for contest details and resources.
